I am Stella and I have created this space to support people to take the time to relax and discover potential for lasting and significant change through therapy. Hypnotherapy calms the nervous system, allowing people to find an inner sanctuary for rest that their bodies are literally crying out for. Through hypnosis we access a deep calm that we knew as babies and forgot as we became conditioned into adulthood.
We are seeing a cultural epidemic of chronic stress and trauma, resulting in a wide range of health issues. For me, this came to a head some years ago when I was hit with ME/CFS and set on a path of recovery which changed my life significantly. After years of ignoring my body and soul and suppressing my emotions, I found myself in crisis and realised that these symptoms were a message that my life was making me sick! From my own experience I have found therapy and spirituality to be a necessary part of understanding why I became ill and how to create a more healthy and fulfilling life.
I have always known that I wanted to have a career that helped people, as well as being creative and challenging. I have trained in Hypnotherapy and NLP, EFT tapping, Reiki and Qigong/ Tai Chi for Health, as well as a background in art and philosophy. I feel truly grateful to have discovered a toolkit of therapeutic tools that continuously amaze me when I see both the changes they allow clients to make and the profound shifts in my own life.
My journey to this point has been a winding road...For some time I felt very lost and unsure about life, but this has led to a deep questioning that has served me well.
There is rarely just one thing that causes ill health and mine really came to the surface after significant life events in 2015, including the death of a loved one. Developing a chronic illness in my late twenties led to the life long work of meeting these parts and learning to forgive myself and others. I understand my health today to be a build up of all the wounds I had bandaged up and supressed in order to push on and survive.
When I was diagnosed with M.E/chronic fatigue in 2018 I had to make many life changes in order to regain my health, including how I thought about myself and the world around me. I know full well how difficult it is feeling hopeless with exhaustion or mental health issues and I am passionate about supporting clients. When I was at my worst just climbing the stairs felt like a mountain. During this time I experienced a significant change where rest and healing became my medicine.
I continue to manage my health today, with self-knowledge and care I live a more content and full life now than I ever did before. I believe that symptoms are messages that we are not living in alignment with our true self, and that in getting quiet and listening we can begin the wonderfully messy path of coming home to ourselves. I have been shaken to the core by this journey and can't wait to discover more shifts ahead and share the tools I have learnt.
As we know life inevitably throws difficult things our way and we can all be kind to ourselves and see therapy and relaxation as a way to maintain or regain balance in our life.
I refer to all the parts of my life that help me heal and connect as my practice and this has become my daily anchor. Every morning I create space to ignite my curiosity and turn inwards. Years ago I started with a short twenty minutes on my mat and now I have up to an hour session that includes wonderful tools (Qigong, Tai chi, Yoga, tapping, meditation, Reiki, hypnosis...) and it is always growing.
I believe that showing ourselves compassion and feeling content is a life long journey and at times a bit of a rollercoaster! What might your unique path look like, feel like? It really is all about what feels right for you and I would love to help you find your path and give your soul space.
